JWP BoardEran Hood, Board Chair
Dr. Hood is the Assistant Professor of Hydrology in the Dept. of Natural Sciences at the University of Alaska Southeast. Eran obtained his B.S. in Biology from Harvard University, and both his M.A. and Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Colorado. His research interests are in watershed-scale contamination transport, organic carbon and nitrogen cycling, alpine hydrology, biogeochemistry, snow hydrology and chemistry.

Erik Norberg, Board Vice Chair
Erik Norberg has lived in Juneau since 1996.  He received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Alaska and is currently working for the State of Alaska.  He previously worked seven years with the U.S. Forest Service, Forestry Sciences Laboratory in Juneau.  His research interests are in watershed-scale biogeochemistry, aquatic ecology, and influences of hyporheic exchange flows in small forested streams.

Erich Schall, Secretary
Erich is an Associate Civil Engineer with Toner-Nordling and Associates. Erich has a BS in Civil Engineering from Oregon Tech. Erich is interested in how the current changes in environmental protection regulations affect Juneau's construction projects and how contractors can learn to manage these additional considerations.

Keith Kahklen, Treasurer
Keith is the Natural Resources Manager for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Keith is responsible for the Bureau’s Water Resource Program. Keith previously worked for the U.S. Forest Service, Forestry Sciences Lab for nine years.  Keith obtained his B.S. in Fisheries Science and his M.S. in Forest Hydrology from Oregon State University.

David Hanna
Dave has worked in the construction industry in Juneau his entire life, and is a general contractor and development consultant. He believes strongly that the public needs to be involved in guiding the direction we want our city and watersheds to grow.  He sees the Partnership's diverse membership as an effective voice for improving the health of Juneau's watersheds, while allowing for smart community development.

Jack Manning
Jack is a family man who lives in the Mendenhall Valley and is owner of Duck Creek Market. Duck Creek is a major interest, and since duck hunting his favorite sport, Jack always has ducks on his mind. As a concerned citizen, Jack participates in stream clean-ups and promotes coordination efforts between the city government and property owners.

Teri Camery
Teri Camery is an environmental planner with the City and Borough of Juneau. Teri received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Iowa. An avid kayaker and former whale-watching guide, Teri has lived in Juneau since 1996. Teri has a strong interest in public education as an effective tool for promoting stewardship of local watersheds. 

Amy Sumner
Amy is an Environmental Specialist with Prince of Wales Tribal Enterprise Consortium (POWTEC), LLC. She received her B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of Alaska Southeast and her M.S. in Environmental Studies from Antioch University.  Amy has been involved in the Juneau Watershed Partnership in various capacities since 2001.

Aaron Jacobs
Aaron is a Meteorologist for the National Weather Service along with being the hydrology focal point. He received his B.S in Meteorology from Penn St in 2001 then moved to Juneau and has been here for 8 years. He loves being outside hiking, camping, kayaking, and fishing.

Staff

Beverly Schoonover, Executive Director
Beverly is originally from Portland, Oregon where she grew up playing and fishing on the streams and rivers in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Beverly received a B.S. in Community Development from Portland State University and M.S. in Humanitarian and Development Practice from Brookes University in Oxford, England.  Beverly has been with the Partnership since 2007.

Shannon Seifert, Project Coordinator
A long time Juneau resident, Shannon enjoys everything that you can do on water here including skiing, boating, fishing, rafting, and ice hockey. Shannon has a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Alaska Southeast, Juneau, and is an M.S. Candidate in the Biological and Environmental Engineering Department at Cornell University. Shannon brings a suite of skills and knowledge to JWP including a background in hydrologic and water quality monitoring, geographic information systems (GIS), and watershed engineering.

Michelle Kaelke, Accountant/Bookkeeper
Michelle is responsible for the Partnership’s bookkeeping including payroll, quarterly and annual taxes, and preparation of monthly financial reports for the board of directors. She has graduate level experience in managerial accounting and auditing.
